We’ve been working with Sport Waikato and the community to establish a plan for the provision of sport, recreation and physical activity opportunities for the community of the Hauraki District.
We hosted community sport evenings to present the draft Hauraki District Sport & Active Recreation Plan and to give the opportunity for stakeholders to give feedback before final sign off.
The Hauraki District Sport & Active Recreation Plan aims to identify the trends in sport and recreation participation, and assist Hauraki District Council and Sport Waikato in the development of programmes and future development of sports parks and facilities in the Hauraki District.
The Sport Evenings included a draft summary of priorities for facilities and delivery and current progress.
The Hauraki District Sport and Active Recreation Plan has identified 8 local priority projects and 9 service delivery projects to enhance the provision of services for the Hauraki District in the upcoming years. Read about these projects outlined in the executive summary and in full in the draft plan.
